Miramichi Boys and Girls Club recognize that our volunteers are important ….we practice the following guidelines in ensuring volunteers understand their role, rights and responsibilities.

  • An assignment that is worth doing, makes a difference and has the potential to be challenging and builds on existing skills
  • To either accept or decline a request
  • To be trusted with the information you need to know in order to fulfill the assignment well
  • To be regularly informed on what is happening with the program, the organization and any upcoming opportunities for training or socializing with other volunteers and staff
  • To receive orientation, training and ongoing guidance and direction.
  • To receive feedback on a regular basis as to the effectiveness of your contribution.
  • To be recognized for efforts made and goals accomplished.

Each volunteer in our organization will be expected to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • To fulfill all commitments made. To inform the appropriate staff person as soon as possible of an unanticipated situation that makes it impossible for you to attend.
  • To behave in a way which reflects positively on the organization.
  • To be a positive role model for the children, youth and adults you interact with.
  • To keep any information which you receive from staff in confidence.
  • To report information to the appropriate staff person which suggests a child or youth is at risk
