
Miramichi Boys and Girls Club recognize that our volunteers are important ….we practice the following
guidelines in ensuring volunteers understand their role, rights and responsibilities.

An assignment that is worth doing, makes a difference and has the potential to be challenging and builds on existing
skills

To
either accept or decline a request

To
be trusted with the information you need to know in order to fulfill the assignment well

To
be regularly informed on what is happening with the program, the organization and any upcoming opportunities for training
or socializing with other volunteers and staff

To
receive orientation, training and ongoing guidance and direction.

To
receive feedback on a regular basis as to the effectiveness of your contribution.

To
be recognized for efforts made and goals accomplished.
Each
volunteer in our organization will be expected to fulfill the following responsibilities:

To
fulfill all commitments made. To inform the appropriate staff person as soon as possible of an unanticipated situation that
makes it impossible for you to attend.

To
behave in a way which reflects positively on the organization.

To
be a positive role model for the children, youth and adults you interact with.

To
keep any information which you receive from staff in confidence.
-
To report information to the appropriate staff person which suggests a child
or youth is at risk
