Get Your Child Involved
Community Based Programs
(traditional match)
- Children 6-12 years old. We get to know your child first so we can match
them in the best program for them - Big Brothers / Big Sisters/ Big Couples
- Big Brothers and Big Sisters share 3-4 hours a week with their Little Brothers
or Little Sisters for at least 1 year. Sharing everyday moments - cooking a meal, playing a game or watching a movie. Many
matches become life long friends!
- Once on our Wait List, children are invited to participate in our summer Fun
While You Wait Program as well as have an opportunity to enroll in our Kids ’n Kops program.
In-School Mentoring
Program (school based)
- Your child and their “Big” share individualized time &
attention on a weekly basis during the school year – using the resources available within the school: the gym, a classroom,
computer labs, the library or the schoolyard.
- Whether they play board games or read the newspaper together, their relationship
promotes a positive school experience for your child
- As their friendship evolves over time, Bigs & Littles discover ways
to make school and learning fun! When matches continue from one school year to the next, volunteers experience the satisfaction
of watching their Little achieve success in school.
- Students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 may be referred to us by school staff.
- If your child attends a school where we offer In-School Mentoring, you can
ask us to match that child with an In-School Mentor.
